Food for thought: .. Days like Noah...

Are you ready? Have you thought about why there is a global economy crisis? I know no one can predict tragedies or predict the coming day that Christ will return. However, do you remember the days of Noah?

Genesis 6:3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years. 5 The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. 6 The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. 7 So the LORD said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them." 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. 11 Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence. 12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. 13 So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.

The days of Noah, men were corrupt in God’s eyes, and the earth was filled with violence. What does Noah have to do with today? Well Jesus stated, “Matthew 24:36 “However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. 37 “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. 38 In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. 39 People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes.

Interesting, statement that the Son of Man will return it will be like it was in the days of Noah. Well, how do we know if we are in the days of Noah? Here is a thought: Ever looked at the statistics of people living to the age of 120? On the High end and by the year 2050 they are estimating 4,218,000 people will be over the age of 100 (See the chart). Interesting we are living longer. Well, thanks to medical science, that it does help to improve our health and our age.
What about the violence?

The United States Crime Index Rates Per 100,000 Inhabitants went from 1,887.2 in 1960 to 5,897.8 in 1991. By 1991 the crime rate was 313% the 1960 crime rate. In 1996 your risk of being a victim of a crime in the United States was 5.079%, and of a violent crime 0.634%. In 1960 these rates were 1.89% of being a victim of a crime and 0.161% of becoming victim of a violent crime. Our Index of Crime Statistics cover the period from 1960 to 2000. They cover the total reported crime, and compare population to the total crime reported by Index. Categories include Property, Murder, Forcible Rape, Robbery, Aggravated assault, Burglary, Larceny-theft, and Vehicle theft.

It is interesting that our crime rate has risen. Are you seeing the big picture? Jesus said there will be signs. What about natural disasters as signs?
"Number of natural disasters (10 or more people killed, 100 people affected, a state of emergency declared or a call for international assistance made)

1900-09: 73
1910-19: 107
1920-29: 99
1930-39: 112
1940-49: 176
1950-59: 294
1960-69: 588
1970-79: 964
1980-89: 1900
1990-99: 2720
2000-09: 4650"

Now see the big picture? More living closer to the age of 120, crime rates are up, and natural disasters are doubled in the last decade. 2 Timothy 3, God condemns those who are "lovers of themselves"—all involved in "self." He condemns those who focus their lives on money and wealth—"lovers of money” and those who are "lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God." Now see why we have global economic crises?

This is just a food for thought that I have had for several months. What would you do if you had one hour left to live?
